It is 2035. AI has taken over every trivial decision in human life, including what people wear. Gronk, the ever-present AI stylist, tells everyone what to put on each morning, and everyone complies. The result is a world where every person on the street looks exactly the same.

Dandy is done with it.

One day Dandy decides to ditch Gronks recommendation and dress smart casual instead. The crowd does not take it well. What follows is a chase through a series of fast, punishing grid-based levels, with the entire population of a homogenised future on his heels. Dandy does not care what any of them think. He never did.

How to Play

Move Dandy using WASD or the arrow keys. Each level is a grid and your goal is to reach the piece of casual clothing at the end to clear the stage.

The rules are straightforward but unforgiving. You cannot step on a grid cell you have already visited. You cannot skip a grid cell. You cannot fall off the grid. Every move counts and there is no room for error.

About the Game

Dandy Defiant was built solo in under two days for the Galway Game Jam, developed in person around the theme of smart casual. It is a game about individuality, conformity, and moving through a world that wants you to fall in line.

Platform and Availability

The game is available to download now for Windows. WebGL support is not yet available due to an unresolved bug, but a browser version will follow once that is sorted.
